Skateboarding with Jacqueline
Jacqueline is a bit of a daredevil. She is intrigued by things that frighten her. During the Halloween party at the Consulate, a haunted house really scared her and she ran back into her dad’s arms saying she was scared, and then asked to go back into the haunted house again. That’s the kind of girl she is.

Ever since the early ’90s, I’ve been skateboarding – street. Yes, I’m 36 years old and I still skate. I’ve always loved the challenges of it, the way it makes me feel, as well as the freedom and release it provides. So since Jacqueline already swims and ice skates (pretty well for someone not yet three years old), we figured it was time to put her on a skateboard. We bought her a Minions skateboard (even though she wanted a princess skateboard, we thought something gender-neutral would be cool so we can pass it down to Jonathan – who will also be a skater).
For her first run, Jacqueline did pretty good…she began to understand the importance of balancing, and the dangers of the board slipping out from under her. However, by the time we got to the playground, she saw some kids and ran towards the slides and swings. But when the other kids took a look at her skateboard, they all were quite impressed. Here is a small video…
